Having scored a Top 20 hit with his debut album âAre We There Yet?â, Brighton's James Marriott looks poised to achieve a whole lot more as he prepares to release his second album, âDonât Tell The Dogâ on June 13th. Itâs an album in which James confronts a myriad spectrum of neuroses, uncertainties and self-defeating thought processes. But as an artist who loves a striking contrast, theyâre woven into songs primarily built for joyous, anthemic singalongs and boisterous live energy. Carefully curated from over a hundred demos, these songs collectively paint an autobiographical picture of Jamesâs life so far. âI wanted to explore themes from my childhood, and in the second half how attachment theory can affect you as an adult. I wanted to look at things that happened to me whilst I was younger and identify ways in which they have echoed into my current relationships.â
